Where are They Now? AIT Graduate Celmali Jaime

23 02 2010

Thanksgiving in KenyaSince having graduated from the Arts in Transformation program, alumni Celmali Jaime hasn’t been recouping from the hectic graduate-school-schedule with pj’s, loafing, and soaps – instead, you can find her in Nairobi, Kenya (that would be Africa, for those who may be unaware) learning to speak Swahili, eating camel (yeah, I said camel), and working in slums teaching kids art.

From living in a country that is vastly different from the United States, building relationships with families and children, working with BuildaBridge for their annual Diaspora of Hope, and navigating cities and markets to teaching and working to make a genuine difference in the world, Celmali is using the skills developed in the Arts in Transformation program to the fullest extent. You can read about her amazing experiences via her blog, and be sure to check out her pictures as well!
